This review (…my little sabbatical project!!) provides an up-to-date account of many aspects of bacterial metallostasis and can be accessed via this doi link. This paper should be online any day now! Thanks to Joey Rocchio and Dr. Katie Edmonds in my group and Dr. Daiana Capdevila in Argentina for their significant contributions to this work!!

Katherine Legg performed low molecular weight thiol profiling of these sputum samples as part of a larger work originating with Michelle Reinier’s group at the University of Washington. This manuscript describes the genetic requirements and nutrient availability for the growth of Staphylococcus aureus in cystic fibrosis sputum. This preprint can be accessed here and is currently under peer review. Congratulations Katherine!!

This paper describes collaborative work on an emerging topic that describes a new intersection of sRNAs and metal homeostasis. The work originated with the De Lay group at University of Texas Health Science Center Houston, and involved Malcolm Winkler’s group here at IU and my group. Max Osterberg and QCB trainee Abigail Garrett in the Winkler group are co-authors on this paper. Congratulations to Max and to Abigail!! This is peer-reviewed paper #200 by Prof Giedroc, a significant milestone!
